To help you get off to a great start with your first assignment the Academic Librarians have created a short course for you: Preparing for an assignment
It takes only 15 minutes and will introduce you to different information sources, how to search for and select resources and also covers basic referencing.
If you are studying psychology this guide is for you. Use it to help you work out what kind of information you need plus where and how to find it. You will also find contact information for your librarians and referencing help.
To find information for an assignment or research you need to understand the question and start to explore the topic.
Think about the types of information sources that will help you complete your task. If you need an introduction to a new topic try finding books. For up-to-date research you will need journal articles. See our Information sources guide for more help.
