Help with research question frameworks

How can I use a framework to plan a search?

Once you have organised all the parts of your research question according to your chosen research question framework, you can also use the framework to start planning database searches.

Here is our example based on the PEO question: What is the impact of climate change on the wellbeing of children?

Population = young people  "young people” OR “young adult” OR teen* OR adolescen* OR youth OR child*
AND
Exposure = climate change  “climate change” OR “climate crisis” OR “extreme weather” OR “rising temperatures”
AND
Outcome = wellbeing  wellbeing OR “mental health” OR coping OR depression OR anxiety

If you need help with finding keywords look at the 'Planning your search' section of your library subject guide. You will notice we have included some search symbols in our table. If you need help with search symbols look at the 'Searching effectively' section of your library subject guide.
